01 / Context & challenge

A specific problem.
A considered starting point.

Clearpath Dispatch is a fictional service operations platform. In the scenario, coordinators scan several screens to find overdue work, assign technicians and identify jobs needing customer contact. Dense cards give every field equal weight, and destructive actions sit close to routine status controls.

02 / The objectives

What the concept sets out to improve.

Make the next operational decision visible, shorten common assignment tasks and specify the edge states developers need for a dependable interface.

03 / Scope & handover

Make the work tangible.

04 / Proposed implementation

The thinking behind the experience.

01

Discovery mapped dispatcher, supervisor and technician roles. A concept task review focused on assignment, reassignment, overdue visits and missing access details.

02

The information architecture separated active work, exceptions and reporting. A job list paired a strong status hierarchy with filters and a persistent detail panel.

03

Interaction designs added explicit confirmation for reassignment, visible unsaved changes and actionable empty states. Keyboard access and focus order were included in component specifications.

04

The test plan used representative operational tasks and recorded errors as well as completion time. Handoff linked components, states and acceptance notes to each workflow.

Proposed stack / workflow

Suggested design workflow: Figma, a component library and recorded task sessions with participant consent. Research participants and observations here are fictional scenario elements.

05 / Evaluation scenario

Define the measures.
Understand the limits.

Illustrative results · not measured client performance

Invented before-and-after scenario values from the concept brief. They are not benchmarks, promises or forecasts for a new engagement.

Illustrative evaluation scenario for Clearpath Dispatch. No measured client performance.
MeasureBeforeAfter
Median assignment task time96 seconds58 seconds
Successful completion in a 10 person task test6 of 109 of 10
Critical errors across 30 tasks114

Measurement method & limitations

Use equivalent task scripts and distinguish new participants from repeat testers. Time includes finding the job and confirming assignment. The small fictional sample illustrates a usability study design; it is not a statistically generalisable product claim.

Prototype success does not validate backend behaviour or production accessibility. Engineering acceptance and actual user research remain necessary for a real launch.
